Olman Deities

Most of the gods worshipped by the ancient Olmans have been all but forgotten, save for the three most powerful and most widely worshipped: Quetzelcoatl, Tezcatlipoca and Huitzilopochtlli. Others doubtless existed, but their names and natures have yet to be uncovered.

The gods have fades so much, in fact, that the Olmans of the Seven Villages have no clerics at all. They rely on Shamans1 for healing and spiritual guidance, as the old gods are considered little more than totems, worshipped alongside the Olman ancestor spirits.

Huitzilopochtli: Also known as Tonatiuh, the god of war and the sun. Without a constant flow of sacrifices, the sun would not rise.

Quetzelcoatl: A god of law, air and the morning star, appeared as a feathered serpent. Abhorred sentient sacrifices, preferring agricultural products.

Tezcatlipoca: God of the night, treachery and dark magic. Had to be constantly appeased with sacrifices to prevent misfortune.
